As Vice President, Intellectual Property & Contracts, Philippe Edouard leads the development and implementation of Visterra’s patent portfolio strategies and supports a range of life science transactions.
Philippe joined Visterra in 2020 and has over 20 years combined legal and R&D experience in the life sciences industry. After starting his research career at biotech pioneer Genetics Institute and other companies, he then transitioned to law, starting his legal career at Finnegan Henderson before eventually moving in-house. Philippe quickly took on roles of increasing responsibility and during his tenure at Shire Pharmaceuticals, he led high-stakes litigation for Adderall XR and after Shire’s acquisition by Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Philippe managed patent prosecution for Takeda’s blockbuster biologic, Entyvio.
Philippe received his BA/MA in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry as well as his JD from Boston University and his MBA from NYU Stern.
